Michael Jordan has been an avid golf fan since the early days of his NBA career. After his retirement, he materialized his love for the game with a step forward by investing $20,000,000 to open a private 18-hole golf course, the Grove XXIII Golf Club in Florida. The Greek Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo is also seemingly developing an interest in the game, with his latest investment in the Los Angeles Golf Club. The LA Golf Club is set to play in the TGL golf league, co-founded by golfing stars Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy. As revealed by Front Office Sports, Giannis was joined by his brothers Thanasis, Kostas, and Alex in this new investment in LAGC.
Since the past couple of months, Giannis has been making several off-court moves to define his legacy. Antetokounmpo is a brand ambassador for Google Inc. and has also made significant investments in other ventures. Perhaps all of these big money moves might help Giannis and his brothers secure a wealthy future for themselves in the long run.
Giannis Antetokounmpo joined Tiger Woods’ golf league with his latest investment
Michael Jordan made a $20,000,000 investment in the Grove XXIII private golf club in Florida. The Grove is a golfer’s paradise, having its own private 18-hole course, driving range, practice facilities, and a 15,000-square-foot clubhouse. Following in the footsteps of the Bulls legend, Giannis is also trying to set his mark in the golfing world. Though his investment might be significantly smaller than MJ’s, it would surely add valuable returns for the Greek Freak in the long run.
Los Angeles Golf Club's newest co-owner: Giannis Antetokounmpo.@Giannis_An34 is investing in the LAGC ahead of the launch of the TGL — the golf league co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
The Los Angeles Golf Club is one of the six inaugural teams set to compete in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL golf league. The other two teams announced as of now are from Atlanta and Boston. Interestingly, the Boston team will be owned by Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC’s parent company, Fenway Sports Group, wherein LeBron James holds a significant share.
The TGL is a unique concept as a golf league, which will include a tech-infused style of play. Golfers will be hitting shots on a golf simulator before a cinema-sized screen. TGL is set to follow a league system and has drawn criticism for its similarity to the erstwhile Saudi-backed LIV Golf League. Furthermore, Giannis has made several similar investments for his future.
Antetokounmpo has made innovative business moves
Giannis has made several big money moves and smart investments to secure his wealth for the future. The investments are expected to provide valuable returns for the Milwaukee Bucks star in the long run. One of Giannis’ first investments was opening a clothing store with his brothers in Athens.
Besides this, Giannis has further expanded his business portfolio with investments in a Canadian candy company, Candy Funhouse. Through Giannis’ investment, the brand wants to expand its reach to the United States and worldwide. Through these savvy investments, Giannis has improved as an entrepreneur and has not missed out on capitalizing on the best of opportunities.
Even though there are no hard and strict rules regarding having first and second drivers in an F1 team, Mercedes and Red Bull have always decided to structure their driver hierarchy in doing so. It was Lewis Hamilton who was the poster boy of the Silver Arrows after Nico Rosberg’s departure. For Max Verstappen, the case was the same after Daniel Ricciardo left the team in 2019. However, Frederic Vasseur recently came ahead to share that Ferrari will not follow similar concepts with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz as per F1’s Beyond The Grid podcast.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are the two drivers driving for Ferrari currently. They have mostly been at par from the day they began their journey together as teammates. Nevertheless, there were talks about the Maranello-based team backing Leclerc for the world championship, therefore demoting Sainz to second fiddle.
However, according to Vasseur, the Italian team does not follow such concepts. He clarified his previous comments by saying that his stance on Leclerc receiving priority was misunderstood. Both Leclerc and Sainz get the same resources and preference from everyone at their base in Maranello.
Ferrari backs both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz
According to Fred Vasseur, Scuderia Ferrari believes in prioritizing both the drivers. Therefore, they are focused on building the team around both Sainz and Leclerc, instead of favoring just one.
The Frenchman also praised the duo as he said, “Both [Leclerc and Sainz] are doing a good job.” At the same time he also wanted them to improve with the team in the coming months.
However, the Ferrari boss also took note of how Verstappen, Hamilton, Vettel, and Schumacher ruled their respective teams once upon a time.
Snubbing them, the French boss put up his defense. He said that Ferrari focuses on their two drivers like McLaren did with Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. With this, Vasseur also added that Sainz and Leclerc’s pairing brings a lot more to the team than just raw pace.
Enzo Ferrari’s son Piero Ferrari also backed the Leclerc-Sainz partnership
The partnership of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz received huge backing from almost all the places including Enzo Ferrari’s son. Piero Ferrari openly supported the duo and believes that they are the best driver pairing in F1 at the moment.
“Charles Leclerc is a smart driver, an extremely gifted guy in all respects, with extraordinary reflexes and great focus. Carlos Sainz has also proven to be a fast and reliable young man. They are superb, and they make the perfect match. Today, they are the best pair in the Championship,” he said as per Maxim.
Interestingly, this has come at a time when Sainz is linked with a move away from Ferrari. As per reports, Sainz’s father Carlos Sainz Sr. is in talks with Audi over his son’s future in the grid. However, the move has not materialized yet, and the Spaniard remains focused on his future with Ferrari.
Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons is now injury-free. Suffering from a back injury he picked up while still with the 76ers, Simmons’ all-around game has diminished significantly since. However, now, the 2018 Rookie of The Year is ready to make a comeback, and in his own words, ‘dominate’ during the upcoming 2023-24 season. Simmons boldly declared his intentions in an interview with Andscape.
In an effort to improve his offseason progress, Ben Simmons has moved from his home in Los Angeles to Miami. Additionally, Simmons has been working five hours daily to get physically and mentally in shape for the upcoming year.
Ben Simmons and his road to recovery from setbacks
During the interview, Simmons was asked about his recovery from the back injury. The Australian responded by saying that he had no intentions of reverting to the player he was for the past two seasons. Additionally, he declared his intention to outperform his past self.
Ben Simmons says his goal is to ‘dominate’ players next season
“For me to come back and dominate people will be great. I don’t intend to come back the same player I was last [season], because that’s not even close to where I am. I get excited because I’m like, ‘Damn, I would… pic.twitter.com/lII9RVh66k
“For me to come back and dominate people will be great, I don’t intend to come back the same player I was last [season], because that’s not even close to where I am. I get excited because I’m like, ‘Damn, I would [expletive] on the player I was last year.”
Simmons was then asked about his current body conditioning in terms of strength, to which he replied:
“Way stronger. The strongest I’ve been physically, in terms of like moving weight. This is the strongest my core has ever been.”
Simmons comments on how he has made significant gains in strength training and how changes in the training program have made his core reach its peak strength.
“That’s the biggest thing, being in tune with my body. Everything feels easier. When I was younger, I was in tune. It was just programmed. You do things naturally. You don’t think about it twice … Now, doing these little things every day, my body is in tune the right way to use everything. So, it’s exciting.”
Marc Spears also asked Simmons if he was hoping to start the NBA season. This is especially important considering Ben’s history of getting injured during the early phase of NBA seasons. Simmons, however, did not see this as an issue. He confidently responded:
“Definitely. Yeah. The version I’m at now, if I were playing against myself from last season, I would k*ll him. That’s how I feel.”
Simmons displayed a confidence that hasn’t been seen from him over the last 2 years.
Simmons claimed he’s reached his current level by maintaining a daily routine with a mix of body weight and functional training exercises. He also combined this with lifts, and depending on the day’s plan, he would either practice shooting or other areas of his game.
“I wake up, I’ll get ready. I’ll get on the [training] table with my trainer Scott. Eat breakfast, get on the table, get treatment done for about like an hour, 45 minutes. Depending on what day, I’ll do Pilates first. I’ll do some knee loading and then I’ll either hop on the bike [Peloton] or go straight to facility. And then head to the gym, but depending on what stage we were at with the rehab. At the start, I got in the OTG [Off the Grid Fitness], so the treadmill with the air, so it’s taking your body weight off. Once we got that, we were more onto the court, then we usually hit a lift right after. Then depending on what is next, we usually go back and shoot, depending on if it’s a long session or a short session.”
The talented Australian is looking to save his NBA career after two seasons of injuries and extreme criticism. If Simmons’ words are anything to go by, we could see the return of the man who once won the 2018 ROTY award.
Even if basketball is a USA-dominated sport and NBA is followed worldwide, FIBA rules vary significantly from the league. When asked about the rule changes/differences with that of the NBA, Anthony Edwards, the NBA’s rising prodigy, said that he focuses on trying to play his natural offensive game, put the ball in the basket, and then replicate a similar effort on the defensive end. This response was praised by Team USA’s coach, Steve Kerr.
Steve Kerr initially wanted Edwards to come off the bench by stating an example of Dwyane Wade coming off the bench for the USA behind Kobe Bryant. However, Edwards was not pleased about it. However, seeing his performances, he earned the starting role and has led the squad since the Summer. But is he a World Cup MVP candidate?
Will Anthony Edwards end up being the MVP of the World Cup?
Team USA finished the group stage by winning all the matches and cemented their place at the Top of Group C. Ant-Man, with his gameplay, has been the talk of the World Cup with his elite leadership skills.
He scored 14 points and 7 rebounds against New Zealand, 13 points against Greece, and 22 points and 8 rebounds against Jordan. Edwards had already garnered attention with his response to a question about Team USA’s adjustment to FIBA rules.
I always keep it simple and short. For me, it’s just put the ball in the basket and get a stop,” he said.
The response indeed made Kerr have a grim on his face. Team USA’s and Golden State Warriors head coach, Steve Kerr, has always praised Edwards for his efforts on the field, and he told the media that this is the approach that he expects from Ant-Man. Three games into the World Cup, Edwards leads Team USA in scoring (16.3) and efficiency (16.7 EFF).
Anthony Edwards, on the FIBA rules (and how they clearly aren’t affecting him): “I just try to put the ball in the basket and get a stop.”
Steve Kerr, right on cue: “That’s why we love him.”
When Team USA arrived at the camp, Coach Kerr planned to bring Edwards off the bench, which was not received well by the 1x All-Star. He told Joe Vardon of the Athletic,” I mean, of course, I wasn’t cool with it; if that’s what it takes, I am willing to do it, but nah, I’m never cool with that.”
Coach Kerr even mentioned that Wade came off the bench behind Kobe. However, Edwards responded passionately,” Dwyane Wade came off the bench when Kobe played. I was like, All right, we don’t have a Kobe, but all right. But it was cool.”
But this off-the-bench role lasted only for one game, and Edwards has not seen back since then. Team USA shall face Montenegro and Lithuania in Round Two of the FIBA World Cup.
LA Lakers’ legend Shaquille O’Neal was recently seen crashing his daughter Me’Arah O’Neal’s practice session in Houston. Me’Arah, who is reportedly being pursued by Shaq’s former alma mater LSU, was training in Houston alongside Houston Push’s head coach Moochie Norris. Shaq not only took over their practice session, but also proceeded to defeat Norris during a shooting contest, according to an Instagram video.
While Shaq was traditionally a poor shooter from the free throw line during his playing days, his jumper looked impressive during the contest. Shaq claimed in the video that he beat Moochie Norris and appeared delighted with his win.
Shaquille O’Neal crashes daughter Me’Arah’s Shoot 360 training session in Houston
O’Neal actively plays a role in his children’s basketball career, and Me’Arah is no different. Shaq was at the Shoot 360 training session that Me’Arah attended with Moochie Norris.
Norriss played for multiple NBA teams including the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks. He is currently the coach of The Basketball League’s Houston Push.
Shaq, never a good free throw shooter, not only crashed the session, but also managed to beat Moochie Norris during a shootout. He could be seen elated in the video, and exclaimed multiple times that “I Beat Moochie.”
The caption, however, suggested that O’Neal had in some way cheated during the contest.
“Pops def cheated!”
His daughter also appeared unimpressed and challenged him to shoot again.
“Shaquille O’Neal beat Moochie Norris at a shoot g contest but the win was not uncontested. We will post the video later and let you be the judge. It’s always fun to watch @shaq @moochienorrisworkouts and @mearahoneal_ compete.”
Regardless, O’Neal paid no heed to Me’Arah and was in no mood to shoot again. This suggests that he had somehow cheated, and did not actually win the shootout, despite his elated claims. Norris also said via a comment on the post that he was cheated by a “Hall of Famer.”
Shaquille O’Neal beat James Hunt back in 2017 in shooting contest
Back in 2017, Shaq was at a training session after a family training session against experienced coach and trainer James Hunt. Hunt had a long career in Bulgaria and went against Shaq in a 1-on-1 shooting contest.
In the video posted by Home Team Hoops, O’Neal can be seen sinking a range of long rangers. Unlike his playing days, Shaq seemed to have no problem in shooting from the 3-point line.
A neck-to-neck competition saw him come out on top, leading to elaborate celebrations in the end. Unlike his contest with Moochie Norris, Shaq did not cheat and actually beat Hunt in the competition.
Rafael Nadal will be missing out on the US Open 2023, almost 10 years after winning the Grand Slam in New York City. On September 10, 2013, the Spaniard won his 13th Grand Slam title by defeating the man who would go on to become his biggest rival of all-time, Novak Djokovic. Nadal won the match 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, which was extremely special since the 22-time Grand Slam champion was contemplating quitting tennis in 2012 after sitting out of the second half of that season due to a career-threatening knee injury.
The win was also crucial to re-establish Rafael Nadal as one of the world’s top 2 players, as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray were threatening to make it their triumvirate in men’s tennis. It also made many reconfirm Nadal’s versatility on all surfaces. Interestingly, it seems as if the Spanish legend took a leaf out of his then arch-rival, Roger Federer’s book to beat Novak Djokovic.
Nadal changed his forehand style to counter Djokovic
Rafael Nadal is as it is known to be a private person, being extremely quiet, dedicated and confined when it comes to following his routine and going about his training. On the other hand, it is no secret that he as well as his uncle and then coach, Toni Nadal admire Roger Federer tremendously. While Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have two totally contrasting styles of play and approaches, the former must be given credit for having the humility to learn and trying to imitate the latter in one major aspect. The move also helped him get back on the horse in his rivalry with Novak Djokovic to a huge extent.
Two years prior to the 2013 season, Novak Djokovic had the upper hand on Rafael Nadal as he had won 8 out of their previous 11 meetings. The 3 matches that Nadal prevailed in, were on clay. Perhaps, time away from the game due to his knee injury made him reevaluate his game and come out stronger by getting back his powerful serve. Apart from that, it is likely that Rafael Nadal was watching Roger Federer continuing to be competitive against Djokovic and others on the Tour with his typical mix of technique and grace at the age of 31-32.
During the 2013 US Open final, one commentator spotted a slight change in technique in the Rafael Nadal forehand, which continues to be one of the most dreaded on the ATP Tour. At one point of the match, Nadal was leading 6-2, 2-2 with Djokovic serving at 30-0. To turn the game around, Nadal produced two blistering forehands in the same point, one which was cross court but Djokovic was able to retrieve it.
The second one though, was fired right down the line and it amazed fans and pundits alike as even the agile Djokovic could not respond to that. The commentator said that ever since Nadal lost in the first round of the Wimbledon Championships that year in straight sets, he had changed his position of pickup for the forehand. His right foot was behind on the baseline, which was almost Roger Federer-like as the Swiss maestro often was seen with a similar shot but with his left foot at the back since he was a right-hander.
He observed that Rafael Nadal did not back up for that shot especially, held his ground, then bent his knees and followed it up with a short hop, ending his forehand with the then usually high topspin that everyone knows he has. What helped Nadal beat Djokovic on the day was the precision and speed of those forehands, super serves and ability to anticipate the Serbian’s aggression. But surprisingly, that was the last instance of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic meeting at the US Open. Nadal leads Djokovic 2-1 in New York City.
Will Rafael Nadal match Roger Federer’s US Open tally in 2024?
Rafael Nadal has impressed many with his ability to adapt and bounce back stronger from adversities in his life and on court alike. Nadal last won a Grand Slam in June 2022, which was the French Open. Should he win the US Open again, it would make him level with Roger Federer, who has won 5 titles in NYC.
Nadal has publicly declared that he is targeting another ATP Tour comeback at the start of 2024. It remains to be seen whether he remains in the race of most ATP Masters titles and Grand Slams won, as Novak Djokovic has gone ahead of him in both those aspects.
Ferrari won the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year, for the first time since 1965. Ferrari’s victory denied Toyota a sixth consecutive Le Mans victory, making it a historic event for the Italian automaker. To commemorate that, their F1 team decided to pay homage to Ferrari’s Le Mans division in the upcoming Italian GP by sporting one-off race suits. However, McLaren’s Lando Norris couldn’t resist poking fun at Ferrari’s new color suits during a livestream.
lando: “do you think the ferrari stuff look more like mcdonald’s this year than it did last year?”
max: “yeah i’m not a big fan of their suits” pic.twitter.com/VittcnBlg7
The suit went viral on social media as fans couldn’t help but draw a comparison to McDonald’s, one of the biggest food chains in the world. This was mainly because of the red and yellow branding associated with them. Admittedly, Ferrari’s race suit for Monza next weekend also features similar colors.
Because of the ongoing jokes about Ferrari’s new race suit, Norris couldn’t help but join in. He joked about the colors, and stated that he was ‘not a big fan’. He joins a huge number of fans in agreeing that the color scheme is not ideal for a Ferrari race suit.
Lando Norris jokes about Ferrari’s new race suits
In a livestreaming session hosted by Max Fewtrell, Lando Norris jokingly compared Ferrari’s new race suits to the iconic colors of McDonald’s. He asked Red Bull Max Verstappen, “Do you think the Ferrari stuff looks more like McDonald’s this year than last year?” Max agreed and said, “Yeah, I’m not a big fan of their suits.”
Since then, the playful exchange between the two drivers has gone viral on social media, with fans indulging in the light-hearted banter.
Irrespective of the color scheme, Ferrari introduced something different to its motor racing suits by adding yellow to its traditional red. The addition of yellow could be considered a nod to the classic Ferrari colors.
The inspiration behind this choice comes from the Ferrari 499P which emerged victorious in the Le Mans race earlier this year. The team aims to honor their endurance racing victories while aiming to achieve similar things in F1.
Ferrari diverts personnel to Le Mans, eyes future victory
With the introduction of the costs involved in Formula 1, teams such as Ferrari have reportedly diverted some of their personnel and resources towards their Le Mans team. Additionally, there are rumors that Ferrari F1 drivers like Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz could suit up for the iconic endurance race in Le Mans in the future.
While rumors suggest that Leclerc and Sainz could be involved in Le Mans, Sainz’s future with Ferrari is uncertain. For Ferrari, winning Le Mans is hugely important, and team boss John Elkann compares it to winning the F1 World Championship. Sending Leclerc to Le Mans will be proof of Ferrari’s commitment to success in Formula 1 and endurance racing.
As the team continues to make a serious effort in its Le Mans campaigns, fans can expect to see the iconic Ferrari brand competing at the highest level in several motorsport events.
Following the conclusion of the Dutch Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton made an admission where he said that he was at par with Max Verstappen in terms of pace. Therefore, the fans could ask for a better race from Mercedes in the upcoming Italian Grand Prix. However, a couple of days later, the Mercedes driver came out with a dull forecast of ‘Verstappen dominance’ in Monza, as per GP Blog.
Verstappen won nine races in a row this season after he crossed the finish line at Zandvoort. One more win will see him break Sebastian Vettel’s record and for the fans, it was nothing but a “boring” one-man show.
Winning 9 races in a row is a truly incredible achievement, which I’m extremely proud to be a part of @redbullracing Today was a challenge, but the car was an unbelievable rocket ship, let’s keep this going and keep pushing pic.twitter.com/lw8q2AWJOE
However, Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen came out to defend his son against the ‘boring’ allegation. Nevertheless, seeing Verstappen win another race would be a sight only his fans would want, but Hamilton accepted the reality of the situation.
Lewis Hamilton’s forecast for the Italian GP
Hamilton recently opened up about the upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza and what fans could expect from him and Mercedes. When asked about it, the seven-time world champion said, “I have no clue how that will be.”
Following this, he revealed his prediction about Red Bull Verstappen, “Max will be long gone by seconds like he always is. And then I think for us, hopefully, we have a better weekend and we can maybe fight for a podium, which we should have this weekend.”
Admittedly, Hamilton has already made it clear that it will not be possible for anyone to beat the two-time world champion this season. So, hoping for a podium result could be his best shot at having a decent race weekend.
Is Max Verstappen unbeatable in 2023?
Max Verstappen has picked up 11 wins in 13 races so far. With that, he also increased his championship gap from his teammate Sergio Perez to 138 points. Furthermore, the massive pace advantage that the Red Bull RB-19 has this time around, makes the Dutchman unbeatable.
Therefore, Lewis Hamilton understands that it will not be feasible to try and beat Verstappen in an inferior W14. However, Fernando Alonso and Lando Norris have a different opinion about this.
Both Alonso and Norris are confident about their upgrades for the upcoming races. Nevertheless, Hamilton would still be eyeing for a win if the opportunity comes given he is an advocate of never say never.

Conclusion
League of Legends 13.17 update is mostly focused on making multiple characters balanced for all. Most of these changes are reflected in Blitzcrank, Elise Hecarim, and more. This can likely change their pick rate in the game and help towards more dynamic gameplay. On the other hand, nerfs to Kayn, Naafiri, and other characters might display opposite results.
Additionally, changes to items Goredrinker and Immortal Shieldbow might help it to give more impactful gameplay changes. However, it depends on the players on when they would use these items. Other helpful bug fixes and quality-of-life changes are welcome additions to the MOBA title as well.
This concludes all the changes that will be arriving in League of Legends with patch 13.17. If you liked this article, do give us a follow for further on-time updates. You can also check out similar content from us, by visiting our hub by clicking here.
Promising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev rejected Khabib Nurmagomedov comparison whilst comparing himself with Mike Tyson back in 2020, despite having issues with the boxing legend. There is a lot of hype associated with undefeated ‘Borz’, and he added further fuel to the fire by comparing himself with the knockout artist.
Chimaev and Tyson both are known for aiming to finish their fight as early as possible. As a consequence, Tyson has had over 44 knockouts in this career and Chimaev has won four out of his six fights within the first round in the UFC.
However, Tyson was a knockout artist, and this is something Chimaev is not quite well known for. But, during one of his fights, ‘Borz’ made the fans nostalgic about Tyson with his performance inside the ring and then later on with his comparison.
Khamzat Chimaev made a Mike Tyson comparison rejecting Khabib Nurmagomedov
UFC fight night: Woodley vs. Covington saw Chimaev finish off Gerald Meerschaert on 19th September 2020. What’s more, it only took the Swedish fighter 17 seconds to finish off Meerschaert inside the octagon.
Chimaev won the fight and the hearts of the fans with a vicious knockout announcing himself on the biggest stage. His previous two wins were a show of grappling, and hence Chimaev was compared to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
However, after the fight while speaking with ESPN, he claimed to be like Mike Tyson, Chimaev said,
“Now they have to say this is like Mike Tyson. ll just do my hard work, take my wins, go home, and then start again.“
Although ‘Borz’ brought back the memories of Tyson, he isn’t a huge fan of Tyson. Evidently, Chimaev refused a chance to meet and talk with the boxing legend. Moreover, he also revealed what he didn’t like about the boxing legend and why he refused to meet him.
Chimaev revealed why refused to meet Tyson
Like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Chimaev also didn’t like Tyson for several reasons. However, unlike Nurmagomedov, Chimaev refused to even meet and sit down with the ‘Baddest man on the planet’. During an episode of the Hustle MMA podcast, he spoke about the differences with the boxing legend.
Chimaev said, “Ali said Mike Tyson also wants something, but I didn’t go. I didn’t have much desire to do that. As a fighter, an athlete, I really like him. But I don’t like what all happened with him – the violence, the pills, the marijuana, then Muslims. It’s strange. But I still respect him. Both as a fighter and as a person… I don’t judge anyone, but I just didn’t want to go.”
Nurmagomedov also shared the dislike of Tyson due to his usage of Marijuana. Although weed is now legalized in many areas of the world, the stigma surrounding the herb still prevails around the world.
That’s why even athletes using the drug are often facing criticism and even legal consequences. However, it doesn’t take anything away from Tyson, as Chimaev didn’t shy away from making a comparison with the boxer.
Iga Swiatek made a strong statement on her defense of the US Open title by notching up an amazing 19th bagel of the 2023 season. The latest victim of her onslaught was Rebecca Peterson; Swiatek dispatched the Swede with a bagel and a breadstick, 6-0, 6-1 to send a firm warning to those who are looking to challenge her at Flushing Meadows. From the looks of it, she also ignored what American Frances Tiafoe had requested her to do, which was not to wrap up the match too quickly.
Gallant as always, however, Swiatek iterated that she wants to focus on developing as a player and that the numbers and statistics don’t mean much. This mindset is evidently working wonders for the 22 year old who is on a mission to lift her fifth Grand Slam, and a second US Open title, at such a young age.
Iga Swiatek ignores Frances Tiafoe
Iga Swiatek started her campaign at Flushing Meadows in the best possible way. Taking just 24 minutes to see off Peterson, Swiatek will likely get back on the training court soon to keep herself nimble. While notching up a 19th bagel of the season would compel some to sit back and relax until the next day, Swiatek does not concern herself too much with such achievements.
In her post-match on court conversation, the World No. 1 firmly stated that numbers and stats don’t matter to her. What matters is enjoying herself and growing as a player with every match. She also mentioned Frances Tiafoe requesting her not to finish the match too early as he wouldn’t then get enough time to warm up for his own match. Well, Frances, looks like you’ll have to make do.
“Well, Frances told me yesterday, actually, not to make it too quick because he doesn’t have time to warm up or do other stuff. I’m just kidding. I wanted to play solid and start the tournament with everything that I kinda focused on when I was practicing here for the whole week, so I’m happy that I could play such a great game and I just feel happy that I, with all the pressure and expectations, I can just have fun on court.”
Swiatek went on to mention what matters to her, before revealing what she would like to do in New York off the tennis court.
Having already watched Lion King at Broadway, Iga wants to also check out an immersive theatre there.
The Dallas Cowboys made a move to sign quarterback Trey Lance just two weeks before the start of the 2023 NFL season. Lance, the No. 3 draft pick in 2021, was facing challenges with the San Francisco 49ers. Amid all this, the spotlight turned to QB1 of the Cowboys – Dak Prescott, who also has had his fair share of struggles in recent times.
Cowboys posted a convincing 16-31 preseason victory against the Raiders. Dak Prescott took on the role of play-caller, thus showing his versatility on the field. Following the game, reporters flocked to Prescott, all curious about his thoughts on the acquisition of Trey Lance. Dak didn’t try to wiggle his way out of the question and gave a welcoming statement for the new addition to the QB room.
Dak Prescott Has a Welcoming Message for Trey Lance
Being the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys has never been an easy task. Safe to say, Dak Prescott knows this better than anyone. Despite facing his own set of challenges as the QB1, Prescott has lately shown that it’s all about patience and hard work. Amidst all this, the recent surprise addition of Trey Lance into the QB unit by owner/GM Jerry Jones has certainly made the locker room situation interesting.
Lance is set to fill the QB3 position behind Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush. Talking about the move of Trey Lance, Prescott’s statement showed the pragmatic side of the NFL. He said,
“Obviously I understand it’s a business. That’s a first-round talent and you’re always trying to make your team better. But that was the front office so we’re going to welcome him as we do any teammate and hopefully he just makes us better and we’re going to continue to get back at it and know that we’ve got one goal as a team.”

Prescott may not have been directly consulted before the move was finalized. At least, this is what it seems by the nature of his statement when he said,
“I mean, I can’t say that I necessarily expected it. I understand though that that’s business. I understand that they’re probably on a timeline, they need to get something done. We’re going to welcome Trey and that’s what you do for a teammate. I’m excited. I’m always there to help somebody, help a teammate.”
Nevertheless, Prescott seems to have a positive frame of mind and that certainly bodes well for the Dallas Cowboys. After a topsy-turvy last season which had more lows than ups, Dak Prescott seems determined to make the 2023 season count and redeem the hype around him.
Dallas Cowboys’ QB Depth
What was a similar-looking QB locker room for the Dallas Cowboys, has now undergone quite a change with the arrival of Trey Lance. There are lots of narratives flying around. Lance’s addition is as much an enigma as it is promising, thus adding an element of unpredictability. The Cowboys find themselves in a situation where they could use Lance’s talents effectively or face a less favorable outcome.
One thing is clear, Dak Prescott will remain at the helm as the QB1 for the Dallas Cowboys. To an extent, the Cowboys’ Super Bowl aspirations are tied closely to his performance. Coming to QB2, at the moment, Trey Lance does not seem to be an immediate contender to overtake Cooper Rush as a backup to Prescott. Thus, Rush’s role at QB2 may remain the same throughout the season.
Coming to QB3, Trey Lance has unique rushing abilities making him a threat in specific game situations. His focus on rushing, coupled with quick reading, could prove effective. Cooper Rush would definitely have this in mind. Now comes the conundrum of Will Grier, who certainly looks like surplus to requirements as QB4 on a 53-man roster. Most probably, he’ll be gone before the transfer deadline ends.

For the Dallas Cowboys, it is more like a balancing act. The team’s management would have to work out how to harness the abilities of each QB with respect to the situation at hand. Let’s see how the Dallas Cowboys QB saga unfolds.
Despite his quite successful career inside the boxing ring, many young fans remember Mike Tyson for his iconic sting in The Hangover movies. Tyson earned a total of $300,000 for his roles in the Hangover I and Hangover II movies. 13 years after his stint, Tyson revealed in an interview how acting rescued him from an unstable financial situation.
The former WBC Heavyweight Champion earned around $400 million from his successful boxing career. However, in 2004 he declared bankruptcy as he lost almost all of his wealth. Tyson mentioned about not owning the rights to his public image as the main reason for his downfall. Also, his extravagant lifestyle cost him millions of dollars.
Mike Tyson later revived himself financially by acting in a lot of movies. The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ over the years has worked in numerous movies, which have entertained the audience. He once revealed that he used to act in movies to finance his drug use and that acting rescued him financially.
How Acting turned Mike Tyson’s ‘fortune’ around
Mike Tyson sat down for an interview with Shannon Sharpe on his YouTube channel Club Shay Shay. During the interview, Sharpe asked some quick questions and one of them was how Tyson got into acting.
Tyson replied, “I don’t know I just have friends that were directors and they say, ‘Hey Mike sit in this movie, hey Mike go do this, do that’. And I was never getting paid for that stuff. So I started acting and getting paid for it. The Hangover [Favorite Movie] big time. Yeah, put me back on my feet for a minute.“
Tyson had the entire world in his palm’s reach. He had connections in different realms and industries, including Hollywood as well. Everybody wanted to have Mike Tyson in their movie or advertisement. Amidst the demand, Tyson once admitted why he chose to act.
Mike Tyson admitted to acting to finance drug use
Tyson had once lost the over $400 million fortune he had accumulated over the years. Whilst he was in a dire financial situation, acting came up as an alternative to make money and finance his drug usage.
Tyson said, “I was doing that to supply my drug habit. I thought this was going to be really good, We’re going to sell this stuff at 42nd St. on bootleg, and we’re going to get a lot of money. This is my best thinking on drugs.“
Whilst Tyson made his name in boxing, his acting stints made him well-known to a relatively younger audience. Perhaps that’s why ‘Iron’ Mike remains famous amongst even the young fans who never saw him fight live. However, his acting roles were motivated by a variety of personal factors.
2015-16 will forever be etched in NBA history as the swansong of one of the greatest to ever grace the hardwood, the late great Kobe Bean Bryant. Bryant was on his last leg after going through a nearly career-ending injury. Despite his accomplishments, Kobe never lost his competitive drive. He still aimed for excellence despite his body slowly giving up on him. Former Lakers teammate Lou Williams, who was present for his encore, spoke about an incident on the “All The Smoke” podcast which perfectly encapsulates the Mamba’s spirit. Williams recounts a night post a blowout loss in Portland, where the apex assassin came out. Kobe stormed into the locker room after the loss and threatened to freeze his teammates out if they did not raise their standards.
Kobe had a legendary farewell tour and gave it his all in every arena he stepped into as a thank you to all the fans who showed up for him night in and night out. He never believed in resting or taking days off. This, at some point, rubbed off on his teammates. If it didn’t, he’d take action in true Kobe fashion.
Kobe Bryant’s fiery challenge
The 2015-16 Lakers were largely a young team consisting of upcoming players such as Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, D’Angelo Russell, and a few veterans such as Roy Hibert and Lou Williams. Kobe Bryant wasn’t the All-Star that he used to be but did show us flashes of the ability that made him one of the greatest ever, such as the 61-point performance in the last game of his career. Kobe’s body might have been giving up on him during his final season but his mind and soul were still that of an apex assassin’s.
The Lakers got blown out in a game against Damian Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers. Kobe being Kobe was not having it with the loss nor the way his teammates reacted to it. As recounted by Lou Williams, a teammate and witness to the scene, Kobe made his intentions crystal clear in the locker room.
“We got blownout in Portland, he came in the locker room and he was like, ‘From now on out everytime we go down the court I touch the ball, y’all are going to learn what it feels like to play with Kobe F****** Bean Bryant…’ I just feel like mentally he meant that shit but at that point his body wasn’t giving him what he wanted.”
However, there were a few such as Nick Young and Dwight Howard who were immune to Kobe’s jibes. Lou Williams’ portrayal of Young’s reaction to Kobe’s locker room tirade perfectly encapsulates Swaggy P’s personality,
“Nick Young’s playful ass. Nick walk in the locker room and told us, ‘Y’all better throw the m**** f***** the ball or thie is going to be some sh** around here.’ Nick never took anything serious dawg but we just got the shit kicked out of us and Kobe wasn’t going for it.”
Kobe’s brilliance extended beyond scoring titles and clutch shots. His series Detail has been a hit on ESPN and has given us a glimpse into what made Kobe one of the best. After all, this is the same guy who studied sharks to learn how to guard Allen Iverson!
Lou Williams, much like the rest of us, marveled at Kobe’s ability to dissect Steph’s play. Especially because he’s one of the hardest to track considering how fast he moves on the court. Here’s Lou’s recollection of Kobe’s analysis:
“I just remember him saying some sh*t. Every once in a while, I was just like ‘Damn he thinks different!’ One time we came in, we was playing Golden State and this was when Steph was starting to catch fire. He was starting to turn into ‘The Chef’… just kept saying, ‘I fu**ing found it!’ ‘He don’t like people standing on the side of him! [Steph] can shoot with you in front of him! He can shoot with you behind him! But on his side? He don’t like that!’ and we shut him down again!”
Kobe had a knack for finding weaknesses and he figured that Steph hated a player contesting from the side.
Red Bull has been on one of the most dominating runs in the history of F1. The team is undefeated in the last 23 races in the sport, with Mercedes’ George Russell being the last non-Red Bull driver to win a GP. The reason behind the domination has also been due to a lack of challenge from the rest of the grid. With Ferrari’s performances in 2022, they were seen as the frontrunners to take the fight to Red Bull. However, the reality could not be more different. Formula Passion now reports how a Ferrari Aero Linchpin reveals the reason behind its collapse.
Ferrari’s latest F1 car, the SF-23, has been far from ideal since the season started. The team has seen extremely disappointing performances, as they have secured only three podiums so far. Nonetheless, they have identified where their problems lie and are working on improvements for the 2024 season.
Ferrari Aero Linchpin pinpoints where the team’s problems lie
Seeing what Ferrari achieved in 2022, fans and experts believed they were on track to return to winning ways and pose a serious threat to the title. After seeing their dismal performances in the latest season, everyone wondered what was wrong with the team. Formula Passion now reports that they know what is exactly wrong with the car.
“Developing this car, we realized that some choices limited the aerodynamic development. The next car will not be an evolution of this one like the SF-23 was of the F1-75. Chassis and rear will be different to favor aerodynamic development.”
With a poorly developed car, there is almost no hope for the team to improve this season as they have. The Maranello-based outfit seems to have its eyes set on the next few campaigns. However, Charles Leclerc believes the team will not have better luck in the coming two seasons either.
Leclerc believes Red Bull will continue to dominate until 2026
In a recent interview, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc mentioned that he does not see any team posing a threat to Red Bull’s title ambitions until the 2026 season. The Austrian team remains unbeaten this season and is the favorite to win all the remaining races so far this campaign.
Ferrari let Charles Leclerc down numerous times in 2022 and it cost him a lot of points and a potential title challenge.
With new rules such as more electric power, a fuel change, and more horsepower, the teams will have more room for improvement. As such, Red Bull’s dominant run could see its end with the onset of new regulations. Until then, the prancing horse will hope to improve their performances and try to be the second-best team on the grid.
