“LeBron James Got his Break”: Skip Bayless Suggests King James’ Lakers Can Win NBA Championship

The Lakers look better and better with each game. Granted there have been certain inconsistencies, but now that the team looks relatively injury free, it’s starting to show on the court. With LeBron James returning for his second game since injury, the Lakers managed to exact revenge on Chicago Bulls. The win has a lot of fans and analysts excited.

There were some key elements of the game that have woken up the league to the Lakers’ potential chances in the postseason. In fact, the LeBron-led side may even have converted the awfully critical Skip Bayless.

The FS1 Analyst, on the latest episode of Undisputed, was seen defending the Lakers. While Shannon Sharpe, a Laker fan and LeBron friend, criticized them, Skip Bayless defended their potential.

Sharpe is a big, vocal Lakers fan. But he isn’t sold by the Lakers’ performance since the trade deadline. The former NFL player believes the team is too inconsistent to survive a playoffs series. He also questioned Anthony Davis and his role as a franchise star.

On the other hand, surprisingly, Bayless had the exact opposite take. Despite becoming unpopular among fans for hating on LeBron, he surprisingly praised him and the gold and purples.

Bayless stated LeBron James has come back healthy and ready to win games and that the Lakers have finally come together and have a very well-balanced team. He also quoted their depth as one of the reasons he believes they will fare really well in the playoffs and possibly win it all.

Skip: “It feels like LeBron (James) got his break. He got to revitalize. He got to reinvigorate. He came back fresh, he came back much healthier than he left. He was able to sleep off passing Kareem and get back on track to win basketball games.”

Lakers are on the brink of ending playoffs exit

The Lakers won a big game yesterday. With their win over Chicago, their record improved to 38-38. They are ranked 8th in their conference but they can only afford to lose one game at this point in time.

But the Lakers can’t afford to lose their current cushion. They need to keep winning their upcoming games. Unfortunately, they will face 3 tough teams in their remaining 6 games. Their toughest battles will likely be against the Clippers, the Timberwolves, and Phoenix Suns.

The stakes have never been higher but the Lakers have already dealt with this pressure for the last few weeks and they have managed to survive. Maybe there is hope still.
