Team USA is known to regularly put out some supremely talented rosters when it comes to International tournaments, especially the Olympics. In 2016, Team USA won the gold medal after defeating Serbia in the final. The roster included some modern greats, including the likes of Paul George, DeMar DeRozan, and Kevin Durant. Speaking on the “Podcast P” show, DeRozan claimed that training 1v1s often led to some incredible highlights. Especially from Durant and George.

Responding to the interview shared by ClutchPoints, Kevin Durant said that the sessions were “essential” to the greatness that he produced. The now Suns player was the star of the show for Team USA. He scored an incredible 30 points in the final. KD’s work ethic had visibly impressed DeRozan, who claimed that the 34-year-old simply did not stop during training.

All three players have had successful NBA careers but DeRozan’s interview shed light on what exactly sets Durant apart from the rest.

Then only 25, Durant had only recently announced his move to the Golden State Warriors and was still looking for his first NBA title. KD had already won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics and again proved his obvious star quality in 2016.

He was the top scorer for Team USA with 19.4 points, 5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 8 games at the tournament. This success was seemingly a result of the hard work he put in during training, something DeRozan testified during his podcast appearance.

KD responded by claiming that this effort was what led him to greatness. The former Warriors star claimed responded to the interview on Twitter:

“These sessions were essential to the greatness.”

While Kevin Durant’s cannot be questioned, DeRozan himself has enjoyed a highly successful career. He is known as one of the best mid-range shooters in the modern game. The Chicago Bulls ace is a 6-time All-Star but has never won a championship.

Durant on the other hand, is a proven winner and is a 2-time champion and Finals MVP. The 24-year-old is still going strong despite the recent injury issues he has had. He will look to return next season even stronger.

DeRozan’s claims still shed light on what it sometimes takes to succeed at the highest level in the NBA. Apart from having a wealth of talent, KD is also one of the most hardworking modern players currently.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce sat down with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and among other things, they discussed how it would be if the duos switched sports.

Curry and Klay started things off by talking about Mahomes and Kelce’s basketball skills. They talked about how Mahomes definitely had some great skills and Kelce could be a great screen setter.

When it came to their turn, Curry and Klay had some debate about what positions the Splash Bros would play. Curry immediately felt like Klay would be best as a wide receiver. He has the height and the hands for it, but Klay didn’t think so.

“I am a quarterback,” he defiantly said, while bringing up his high school football experience to help strengthen his case. It was a hilarious discussion, and Klay also countered with “I have the height of Tom Brady, and the arm of Chad Pennington.”

Is Klay really a Tom Brady-like figure? Well, Tom Brady is 6’4″ while Klay Thompson is 6’6″, so he definitely does have the height. Brady’s height is one of the best attributes he has, and so that would be a major plus in his favor. So, maybe Klay is just like Brady?

It’s obviously a joking thought, but it shows the kind of fun banter the two have.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce Will Face Off Against Klay & Steph Curry In This Year’s Match

The Match this year marks the fifth year of the game, starting off in 2018. There’s been a great history of players who have played including some great golfing legends like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Bryson DeChambeau.

The Match will take place on Thursday June 29th, at 6:30 p.m. ET. It’ll also kick off in hot temperatures as the venue for this face off is at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas. It’ll mark a difference between other years as traditionally, a golfer pairs with a non-golfer.

However, in this case, Mahomes, Kelce, Klay, and Steph are all non-golfers. It’ll be a fun event, and it’ll be interesting to see how the teammates match up against each other.

However, despite their recent success, there was a time when team principal Christian Horner even had doubts about their first podium. Since he was so confident of his team’s lack of progress back in 2006, he made an audacious bet with star driver David Coulthard.

Horner told Coulthard that if the 52-year-old managed to grab a podium at the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, then he would “strip naked“. And as it so happened, Horner had to live up to his promise after Coulthard clinched a podium.

“But then David Coulthard did a great job during the race and with a bit of luck as well, we got that podium,” explained Horner. “Being a man of my word, I thought I had better fulfill the bet.” It is fair to say that Horner’s visual of jumping into the pool virtually naked made quite the visual for fans.

Red Bull has a long history of using the swimming pool for their celebrations in Monaco. The most famous arguably was the time when Daniel Ricciardo jumped into the pool after the 2018 edition of the race.

The Australian finally managed to win one of the most prestigious races on the calendar on that occasion, having failed to do so in the 2016 edition when he saw his lead slip because of a disastrous pit stop made by Red Bull. Since Ricciardo set the record straight in 2018, his win was famously termed as redemption.

Red Bull’s current driver Sergio Perez also celebrated in a similar fashion after his win in Monaco in the 2022 edition. The Mexican celebrated by performing a belly flop into the swimming pool. Since Red Bull is currently the dominant team in F1, they could have many more such celebrations in future editions of the Monaco GP.

“This replay of Sam Michael years at Williams. He kept saying what the problem was with the car, but you have to know what they are. It’s not what you don’t want in the car. The key is what you want on the car,” said Jonathan, as per Business F1.

Well, under Michael’s charge, Williams couldn’t recapture the imaginations of the F1 viewers as it did in the previous decade. Thus, in 2011, he was removed from his position, and since then, Williams has been far away from its glory days.

Mercedes saved itself from seeing that fate

Well, Jonathan’s complaints probably were heard by Wolff. In the middle of the season, Mercedes announced that Allison would return to Mercedes as the technical director, taking over from Elliott.

On the other hand, Elliott has been handed the CTO position, which is less dedicated to the car’s performance. As per Wolff, the 49-year-old engineer himself offered the swap for the seamless return of Allison to the team, whose help was called amidst the dire season start.

So, Mercedes dealt with the problem as soon as possible. However, there are more challenges in the team, and if the Silver Arrows need to return to the top, then they all have to be solved quickly.

Former Mercedes engineer and current Williams Team Principal Vowles, who worked with both of them in his career, recently revealed the one difference he spotted between the two drivers.

Vowles has been a former Mercedes engineer who worked with both Hamilton and Schumacher. The British engineer arrived at the Brackley-based team in 2010 and it was the year when Schumacher came out of his retirement to race for the Silver Arrows.

The German driver then retired at the end of the 2012 season, and he was replaced by a young Hamilton next season, who has now completed a decade with the team. All in all, Vowles has experience with the former Ferrari star and the Briton, respectively.

Vowles reveals the key difference between Hamilton and Schumacher

Speaking about the difference, between two of the greatest drivers Formula 1 has ever seen, in the recent F1’s Beyond the Grid podcast, Vowles stated, “The one that impresses me year and year is Lewis [Hamilton.]”

“[It’s] because he can pick himself up and literally change a lot about himself. It doesn’t matter if he’s training hard or changing his diet or changing how you’re doing things psychologically,” further asserted the 44-year-old engineer.

Following this, the current Williams boss emphasized how Hamilton can adapt to the situation really quickly and wasn’t satisfied even after the sixth or seventh world championship.

It has never been a number game to the Mercedes star, it was about pushing himself more and more. Furthermore, Vowles also credited Hamilton for bringing the culture that helped Mercedes win eight back-to-back constructors’ championships.

Was the comparison between Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton fair?

Even though the Briton is known for his undying attitude and never giving up mentality, the comparison doesn’t seem to have done citing their prime days.

Admittedly, the German former driver joined the Brackley-based team long after he spent his prime with Ferrari. And Vowles clearly didn’t work with him in those years.

Keeping that aside, Lewis Hamilton has come back after the last-lap loss to Max Verstappen in 2021 and is still in the hunt for his eighth world championship. This speaks volumes of the characteristic that James Vowles mentioned.

Recently, it was announced that Springhill Entertainment, in collaboration with Tribeca Enterprises, will be hosting The Uninterrupted Film Festival. The festival hopes to bring together a number of athletes, filmmakers, and content creators. Backed by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, the festival would not have come to life if it weren’t for their incredible business acumen. They managed to turn Springhill Entertainment into a $725,000,000 venture. As revealed in the book LeBron James Inc. they did this all while staving off competition nine years ago from baseball legend Derek Jeter.

King James and his business partner Maverick Carter have found great success working together. From his investment in the Fenway Sports Group to his sports agency LRMR. They have done some amazing things in the business world. And, Springhill Entertainment is one of the results of their work.

Jeter, an incredibly successful and legendary baseball shortstop challenged King James and Maverick’s Uninterrupted.com with a concept that was eerily similar. As Brian Windhorst revealed in his book, Jeter and his agency, Excel Sports Management announced the idea of The Players’ Tribune.

The website, much like Uninterrupted wished to provide athletes with a platform to express themselves as creators. In fact, it was so successful that it even received investment from the late great Kobe Bryant.

“They weren’t alone in having the idea. As Uninterrupted was developed over the coming moments, a similar concept was being assembled by Derek Jeter and his representation agency, Excel Sports Management. Less than a week after Jeter retired from the Yankees in the fall of 2014 after a brilliant career, he announced the formation of a website called the Players’ Tribune, which would be a place for athletes to publish personal essays just as LeBron had done with Sports Illustrated.”

Fortunately, despite the similarities, both Uninterrupted and The Players’ Tribune have thrived, perhaps even maintaining healthy competition with one another. But, now, both James and Carter look to the future with the upcoming Uninterrupted Festival.

From screenings of tv series like Goliath and movies like Black Ice to a Live podcast episode of The Draymond Green Show. The festival is sure to be a success.

It’s great to see LeBron find so much success outside of basketball. He truly is one of the greats and continues to show just why both on and off the court.

Aaron Rodgers and Randy Moss nearly swapped teams in 2007 which could’ve led to completely different career arcs for Tom Brady and Brett Favre. 2007 was a drastically different time in the league. At the time, Rodgers still hadn’t inherited the starting role for the Packers, Brady was still entering his prime (although there really isn’t a clear-cut line on when Brady’s prime started and ended), Brett Favre was still in the league, and so was Randy Moss, and neither seemed like they were declining.

The 2007-08 season was an interesting year for the NFL. It marked Brady’s all-time peak. He took the Patriots to a 16-0 record in the NFL, only to fall in the Super Bowl to a New York Giants team that was a Wild Card team. He formed a dynamic connection with WR Randy Moss as they set records and lit the NFL world on fire. Brett Favre was playing great in his own regard, but with the potential of Randy Moss being there, he certainly could have been better.

In 2007, the Packers weren’t as committed to Aaron Rodgers as they were towards the prime years of his career. They were grooming him behind Brett Favre, and the plan worked perfectly.

Rodgers took over the team, took a bit to get adjusted, and then quickly found MVP form. He’s a Super Bowl winner and a multiple-time MVP, and all those years behind Brett Favre just seemed to set him up perfectly to take over the team when he needed to.

However, in 2007, he was expendable to some degree. The Packers wanted to maximize Brett Favre’s window, so they were trying to find good pass catchers for him. Randy Moss was an option at the time because his production with the Raiders had fallen off meaning he wasn’t as highly valued as he actually was.

The Packers and Raiders considered a Moss-Rodgers swap, but the deal never came to fruition, and instead, Moss was dealt to the New England Patriots for a fourth-round draft pick. In hindsight, the deal was a complete robbery, but at the time, it really seemed like that was all Moss was worth.

Favre desperately wanted someone like Moss on the team as he would give the team the edge they needed with studs Greg Jennings and Donald Driver already there. However, Favre and Moss would only go on to team up with the Minnesota Vikings four years later when they were both past their primes.

How Would the League Have Changed With This Trade?

The NFL would have been massively different if this trade went down. For one, it’s unlikely the Patriots go undefeated that season. Moss set the NFL record for touchdown passes with 23 that year, and it’s unlikely that Brady and the Pats would have been as explosive without such an integral part of the team that went 16-0.


Next, perhaps Favre wins another Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers went 13-3 in 2007-08, losing out to the New York Giants in the Conference Championship. Maybe with Moss that doesn’t happen.

Additionally, the entire course of the Raiders’ history in the last 16 years is drastically different. They don’t need to worry about quarterback issues and who knows, perhaps they could have been legitimate Super Bowl contenders in the AFC.

Sergio Perez has not had the best run of forms in the 2023 F1 season. Perez is, however, confident that he can find his form back and perform his best at the Austrian GP. He emphasized that he has had good results in the first sprint race of the 2023 F1 season at Baku, and Austria will be the second sprint weekend of the season.

Perez spoke about the importance of the race in terms of it being Red Bull’s home race. He also mentioned the large number of Mexican fans who turn up in Austria to support Perez and how happy it makes him to see the Mexican flag in the crowd.

Leading up to the Austrian GP, Perez spoke about his main focus for the weekend. He explained that it is very important for him to produce a good result, given his recent run of disappointment.

Perez said that since it is a sprint weekend they would have very less time to set up the car, and therefore it will be very important to maximize the free practice sessions.

Perez’s seat might be in jeopardy

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Perez’s seat in Red Bull. With the Milton Keynes outfit signing up Daniel Ricciardo as their third driver, many people believe that the Australian might end up replacing Perez if the latter fails to perform to his level best.

Perez has been miles off from Verstappen’s performance this season. Helmut Marko even ordered the Mexican to stop trying to reach the level of Verstappen and instead focus on his own races.

Perez currently stands in second place in the championship with 126 points, right behind Verstappen who has a whopping 195 points. However, he is being closely followed by Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. It is critical for Perez to have a good race weekend in Austria if he wants to retain his seat at Red Bull.

The hotel lodged a complaint, stating that Barkley had received four $100,000 casino markers in October 2007 but had not repaid them. The hotel’s attorney disclosed that Barkley had disregarded multiple reminders to settle the outstanding amount.

Barkley had only himself to blame for this incident. He expressed his determination to resolve the matter with the hotel, which had offered a unique restitution program for him. The hotel’s attorney also revealed that Barkley would need to pay the outstanding $400,000, along with a 10 percent restitution fee totaling $40,000. Failure to comply could have resulted in Barkley facing up to ten years in state prison and potential charges of four felony thefts or four felony bad checks.

When discussing this incident, Chuck stated in an interview with WJOX:

“I’ve been gambling 20 years. I’ve never had this happen before. All they had to do is call and say, ‘Hey, you owe us this money.’ Do I have a gambling problem? Yeah I do have a gambling problem. But I don’t consider it a problem because I can afford to gamble.”

He believes that most of the success that Red Bull has achieved is because of how well they have been able to build the car around reigning world champion Max Verstappen.

The 67-year-old believes that Red Bull currently have the perfect combination as they have an exceptional driver in Verstappen and a brilliant team of technicians to suit his needs. It is this reason why Tost believes that no team comes close to Red Bull, and why they could possibly go on to win every race this year.

Max Verstappen seems to have carried over his form from last season as he has already won six of the opening eight races. And that is not it, the Dutchman has also showed immense consistency.

This is because the lowest he has finished in any of the races is second place. Since Verstappen has had such a brilliant start to the new campaign, he has been able to build a whopping 69-point gap over his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez.

Hence, considering the start that Verstappen has had to this campaign, it seems that the question is more about when he will win the title rather than if he will win it or not.

As more and more Dutch companies move away from sponsoring the 25-year-old, this report claims that Verstappen is now more of an international icon. The report adds that as per a recent study, 79% of the Dutchman’s followers on social media come from abroad.

Since Verstappen has achieved so much international acclaim recently, the report states that Dutch brands are no longer able to compete with their international competitors. And hence, many of the Dutch brands are now withdrawing their sponsorship deals.

Speaking of the same, sports marketeer Rowin Bouwmeester claimed (as quoted by ad.nl), “He (Max Verstappen) is very big and has indeed transcended the Netherlands. You can even wonder if he is still really Dutch“.

Bouwmeester defended his claim by adding, “He races under the Dutch flag and speaks Dutch, but from the start of his career his focus has been on the international field. He is therefore mainly a billboard for the Netherlands abroad“.

Does Verstappen have any Dutch sponsors left?

Since the start of his F1 career back in 2016, Max Verstappen’s Dutch sponsors have reduced drastically. With Jumbo now withdrawing their sponsorship deal, the only major Dutch sponsor that the 25-year-old now has is Heineken and clothing company G-Star RAW.

Jumbo will stop sponsoring Verstappen after the end of the 2023 season as they believe that their company is not big enough to compete with the biggest brands. They believe that while they are “a very good food retailer,” their presence is just in the Netherlands and a bit in Belgium.

With Jumbo now withdrawing their sponsorship deal, Heineken remains the biggest Dutch company that will continue to sponsor the Red Bull driver. Since Heineken has a worldwide presence, they are expected to continue sponsoring Verstappen.

Hence, as Verstappen continues to achieve more and more success in the sport, it will be interesting to see which other brands drop their sponsorship deals.

A recent story has emerged about how Colts OC Tom Moore had to tell Jon Gruden that there really wasn’t a contingency plan for Manning. If he went down, well, that was it, it seemed like.

In the book, The Games That Changed the Game, Ron Jaworski recalls an encounter he had with Moore and Jon Gruden. Jaworski writes,

As we watched, we were surprised to see Manning taking virtually all the reps in the session.  Jon [Gruden] asked Tom [Moore, the Colts offensive coordinator,] why he wasn’t giving some snaps to Peyton’s backups…He looked at us both in the eye, paused for a moment, then said in that gravelly voice of his, “Fellas, if ‘18’ goes down, we’re f**ked.  And we don’t practice f**ked.”

It’s truly an interesting story, and it speaks volumes about how valuable Manning was. If he went down, the team was down and out of it.

Manning’s regular season stats speak to this as well. He won the most MVPs in history with 5, and he holds the greatest single season by an NFL quarterback. In 2013, Manning passed for 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns, records that stand to this day.

He was a genius, and he finished his career with two Super Bowl wins to top it off. If there was ever a debate about who the greatest regular season quarterback was, it’s Manning by a mile, and he’s also one of the top 3-5 quarterbacks in history, overall.

Manning’s Value Was Shown in the Colts’ 2011 Season

Unfortunately for Manning, he had to deal with some serious injury problems over his career. In 2011, Manning underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk in his neck, but after suffering a setback, he faced another herniated disk injury and had to undergo surgery again.

As a result, he had no strength in his arm, and he missed the entire 2011-12 season. Now, Manning’s rookie year was bad as the team limped to a 3-13 record, but in the next 12 seasons, Manning led the Colts to 10+ wins 11 times. The 2011-12 season was a disaster for the Colts.

Kerry Collins and Curtis Painter started at quarterback for the team as they dropped down to a 2-14 record. It was terrible, and it showed the kind of impact Manning had year in and year out.

How is the buy menu changing with Counter-Strike 2?

Counter-Strike 2 is one of the most anticipated games in 2023, which continue the legacy of one of the most iconic shooters in PC gaming history. Instead of a new game, CS2 will be released as an upgrade to the existing CSGO.

When the game was initially revealed, it was featured that it would be powered by Source 2 engine. Thus, bringing changes to various things like servers, smoke systems, and much more. The game is in a limited test phase and has brought numerous changes.

One of these changes includes one of the most used mechanics: the buy menu. Throughout versions the menu in the Counter-Strike franchise has seen various versions starting from the linear menu in 1.6 to the circular one in CSGO. However, another change to the buy menu will soon arrive with the upgrade.

Buy menu changes with Counter-Strike 2

For anyone familiar with Valorant, the similarity with CS2’s buy menu is almost uncanny. The buy menu follows a boxed structure with no sub-menu of any sort. So armors, pistols, SMGs, and other weapons are on one page. Accessibility-wise, this change is more targeted towards player simplicity and ease of access. In addition to the visuals, the features in the buy menu are also changing with Counter-Strike 2.

The new system will feature a loadout option, allowing players to carry five weapons in a single category. The categories are divided into pistols, mid-tier, and rifles. So if players wish to take M4A1-S and M4A4 together, this is undoubtedly possible with Counter-Strike 2.

This system also adds the possibility of the addition of new weapons like fan-requested SCAR-L and other weapons to the upcoming shooter title. This will add more depth to the loadout system, as players must pick their weapons of choice strategically. However, this is only a possibility and depends on whether Valve will have new weapons.

Another great feature of this new buy menu in Counter-Strike 2 is the ability to sell accidentally bought weapons. Until now, if any weapons were accidentally bought in a game, they would have to be thrown away or used by force. However, like Valorant, CS2 will add a refund feature that will allow players to sell back the weapons they bought accidentally.

Unlike Valorant, players won’t be able to sell back their weapons in Counter-Strike 2 if it is used after buying. So, if a player ends up firing even one bullet from the guns, they cannot sell it back.

Will this new system affect the meta?

There is a high likelihood that this will impact the gameplay and meta of Counter-Strike. Players must be more strategic with which weapons they bring and who do not. Additionally, players will have to coordinate with teammates more to get a suitable set of weapons, as options will be limited to five weapons per category.

However, this also has its cons for players who like to queue for ranked solo. There might be instances when a team might miss out on required weapons according to the situation. So, this system might be a little problematic for these players overall.

Nonetheless, it is pretty early to say these possibilities, as the game is constantly being changed in its limited test phase, and this might also see a few changes. So, all these things can be shared for sure after the main game’s release in Summer 2023.

Alongside his brothers, Giannis launched an apparel store called AntetokounBros, which sells premium shirts, hats, and other accessories. The store proudly claims to be indigenous and has its only official physical stores in the Athens Airport. However, in one of Giannis’ recent visits, he found the store closed, very much to his dismay. Sports Center released a clip of the ‘Greek Freak’ disappointed with the work ethic of his employees.

Nobody would want to get on the bad books of Giannis, who otherwise is known for his highly jovial and jolly nature. The Greek Freak is known for his upfront nature, which we can also see in this case.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is dismayed to see his Athens store closed

Like any other employer, Giannis was bound to get disappointed seeing his employees lacking work ethic. On finding his store the AntetokounBros, closed at Athens Airport, the Greek Freak recorded his frustration on camera. In the clip acquired by Sports Center, Giannis said:

“I am in the airport man. And my store is closed! Man..I’m gonna stop that payroll real quick. You guys better wake up. Can’t work. YOU WORK, YOU EAT!”

It seems like The Greek Freak might take some stringent measures, perhaps even deducting from the payroll of his workers for their negligence.

Besides, the Antetokounmpo brothers plan to expand their business, opening a second physical store in Milwaukee soon. The store will be located near N. 5th Street and W. Juneau Ave.

Giannis is a hard worker on and off the court

Giannis proves to be an exemplary NBA player, proving the worth of his hard work both on and off the field. The Greek Freak endorses several popular brands, including Google Pixel, Nike, and JBL.

Besides such world-renowned brands, Giannis has ownership stakes in Canadian brand Candy Funhouse,  mental health venture Antidote Health, and his family apparel business Antetokounbros Shop. A perfect example of Giannis’ hard work for these endorsements would be working off-season to acquire new assets and promote endorsements such as Google.

It is quite understandable why Giannis would get dismayed by the behavior of his employees, given how he has toiled to create a wealthy asset from his ventures.
