Dwight Howard at one point in time was one of the top big men in the NBA. However, his attitude towards the sport and his overall demeanor didn’t garner him many fans. One especially vocal Howard hater was none other than Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq has openly stated his dislike for Dwight.

That being said, Big Diesel’s distaste for him was biased and primarily out of anger towards Howard‘s obvious attempts to copy him. However, back in 2018, Shaq’s hate would have been justified. As fans started lashing out at the former two-time DPOY, who was accused of threatening a transgender author.

Over the years, Dwight Howard has received criticism for many things. Being lazy, not giving it his all, not being focused, and not working hard are just some of the things said about him. However, back in 2018, Howard was criticized for something outrageous.

The self-proclaimed Superman was accused of threatening transgender author, Masin Elije. Elije revealed this to the world on a Twitter thread where she called out Howard for harassing her, and even claimed him to be her ex-boyfriend.

The news shocked the world, and Howard received a ton of backlash. While the focus was on his se**al preferences, many also lashed out at the center for his actions and threatening behavior.

However, despite all the criticism, the big man stood firm in his stance. Going so far as to state that he had no idea who Elije was on national television.

Howard claimed to have had no idea and no contact with Masin Elije

Despite strong allegations from Masin Elije, Dwight Howard claims to not know who she is. The center who now plays basketball in Taiwan appeared on Kristine Leahy’s show Fair Game in 2019. It was here that he completely denied having met or made contact with Elije. Even suggesting that the whole story was made up.

Since then, there has been little to no mention of the controversy. Nevertheless, fans cannot help but wonder just what exactly happened with Howard and why he never faced any consequences.

When Daniel Ricciardo joined McLaren in 2021, the team was looking complete with a proven race winner at their helm. And with Ricciardo, the Woking-based team achieved their first 1-2 finish in 9 years at the 2021 Italian GP.

But apart from the win at Monza, the Aussie’s days at McLaren failed to bring much impact. Ricciardo would even struggle to score points in the 2022 car.

This led to McLaren opting to terminate Ricciardo’s contract a year early and bring in debutant Oscar Piastri as his replacement. And with that, the 8 GP winner’s rocky term with Mclaren was sealed.

Ricciardo has roped himself into a Red Bull reserve driver role and will be hoping to claw his way back into the F1 grid. But he wouldn’t forget the warning his former boss gave before he left Renault to move to McLaren.

Journalist warned Daniel Ricciardo of Former Boss

Season 5 of Drive to Survive shows the drama surrounding Daniel Ricciardo’s sacking and Piastri’s contract. In Episode 6 of the Netflix series, Italian journalist Roberto Chinchero is seen meeting Ricciardo ahead of the Dutch GP.

Roberto is an old friend of Daniel, and the two spoke freely in Italian. Roberto asked if Daniel had any plans ahead, especially about racing in the Indy 500.

Ricciardo admitted that “It Scares Me.” The Aussie confessed that he was still looking to stay in Formula 1 despite Chinchero’s efforts to persuade him into driving in the Americas.

Just before departing the Italian is seen whispering to Daniel, “I told you never to trust Zak.” He was referring to McLaren CEO Zak Brown who ultimately took the decision to sever ties with the Aussie.

It seemed like he predicted McLaren would throw Ricciardo under the bus when they get the opportunity to do so. Only if the racer had paid heed to the forecast.

Ricciardo was to Alpine on a swap deal

By the Belgian GP, it was official that McLaren will be dropping Daniel Ricciardo. However, when the news broke out, the F1 community wasn’t in disbelief.

Ricciardo was struggling to secure points while his teammate Lando Norris was P7. It was certain that the Aussie would be sacked as it looked like the car wasn’t set up the way Daniel wanted.

McLaren would be forced to pay Ricciardo $17 Million from their pocket to end his contract early. In the meantime, the team were under pressure from Alpine after Oscar Piastri rejected their racing seat and moved to the British team.

Alpine Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer confronted Zak Brown and told them that the team would be suing McLaren for hijacking their driver. Otmar was also keen on collecting $5 Million from the team as Piastri’s development fees.

To save the team Millions, Brown offered Alpine Ricciardo for Piastri in a swap deal. He pitched it to Laurent Rossi, Alpine CEO, who revealed that Ricciardo was in the pool of drivers the team have considered. This included the like of Niko Hulkenberg and Pierre Gasly.

However, Ricciardo is said to have rejected the offer as he did not want to go back to his old team. McLaren won the litigation against Alpine and saved themselves $5 Million. However, the team had to fork out a major sum to the Aussie.

Monday Night RAW will be opened with a tag team match. Bloodline members Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa will team up to face Street Profits. The show will also feature a women’s tag team match, with Damage Ctrl defending their titles against Lita and Becky Lynch.

MVP’s VIP lounge is also reportedly planned for tonight. However, there has been no word on whom the special guest will be. Although, this could have something to do with Omos challenging Brock Lesnar last week to a match at WrestleMania.

On a related note, Rollins will steal The Miz’s phone and will likely facetime Logan Paul to set up their WrestleMania match. The two have been butting heads since their encounter at the Royal Rumble last month.

Elias, Rick Boogs and Adam Pearce will also appear on the show. Although, it is not clear what their roles will be.

There is also no word so far on Cody Rhodes or Roman Reigns as yet.

Stephen Curry might be one of the most influential basketball players of this generation. After all, the man weaponized his three-point shooting to such potency that the league followed suit unabashedly.

The only unanimous MVP in NBA history is without a question the greatest shooter of all time and his gravity and selflessness proved to be the most important factor in establishing the Golden State Warriors as the dynasty of the 2010s. Sure, a star cast was almost always available at Steve Kerr‘s disposal. But the Warriors were and shall be Stephen Curry’s team until the day he calls it quits.

One of the biggest beneficiaries of the Steph factor who has also played a key role in the championship runs for the Warriors, is former All-Star Andre Iguodala. Iguodala became the glue guy the team needed and even stepped up to claim Finals MVP honors in the 2015 NBA Finals.

And despite his own proficiency in the Warriors’ winning runs, Iggy seems indebted to Steph. So much so that he even referred to his star teammate as “the closest thing to Jesus Christ”.

Andre Iguodala referred to Stephen Curry as the closest thing to Jesus Christ himself in an interview with Shannon Sharpe.

This wasn’t the first time the Undisputed host has been at the receiving end of weird statements but this might just be one of the most unique statements to have taken birth in Sharpe‘s presence. Iguodala is widely regarded as a wise veteran, but his statement has the basketball world confused.

Steph Curry is one of the most beloved teammates in the league, that is a known fact. But there may just not be another NBA player currently, who might have a teammate call him divine. In the highest sense of divinity that too, a direct comparison to Jesus Christ himself.

Curry has made everything he ever promised the Golden State Warriors franchise a reality, in Iguodala’s eyes. When put in context, this marked the reason behind Iguodala’s statement. Doesn’t take away a lot from the sheer extent of praise heaped on Steph by his teammate here.

Funnily enough, the NBA community should have probably seen this coming too. After all, this wasn’t the first time Andre Iguodala mentioned Stephen Curry in the same breath as he did Jesus Christ.

10 years back, Iguodala had called Steph the “second coming of Christ”.

Yes, the veteran is essentially doubling down on a decade-old take of his, with Shannon Sharpe. Iguodala, it would appear, has always seen something godly in Steph. In 2013, Iguodala referred to Stephen Curry as the “second coming of Jesus Christ”. And 10 years later, for Iggy, Curry is still the closest he has seen to Jesus Christ. Make of that what you may.

Funnily enough, the decade-old comparison to Curry even dates back to a time when Steph wasn’t an All-Star. Maybe Iguodala was just foreshadowing the almost godly shooting performances that would rock the NBA.

Iguodala had just joined the Golden State Warriors from the Denver Nuggets in 2013. It probably was Steph’s divine connection that got the devout Christian to San Francisco, looking back at it.

And of course, the possibility of winning championships with a promising young roster. But that might just have been secondary, by the looks of it. Not every day that you get to ball out with the “second coming of Christ” after all.

Charles Barkley comes from an era where players took pride in not missing a single game. The concept of load management hadn’t become a widespread tactic to preserve a superstar’s health for the postseason as it is today. While some players did take a couple games a year as rest days, they would do so if they had at least a minor injury to them.

Fast-forward to present day and load management has become quite a problem for the league. Fans pay thousands of dollars on occasion to watch their favorite player take to NBA hardwood only to find out that he won’t be suiting up for the night because the game isn’t all too important for the team at that stage of the season.

Chuck clearly doesn’t like this new wave that has come onto the league and took to First Take to address the issue.

Charles Barkley calls out athletes who take rest days

Charles Barkley took to ESPN’s First Take to hit on a variety of topics. One such was the rampant spread of superstars taking rest days to help rejuvenate their bodies for more important games down the road. According to Chuck, this shouldn’t ever be the case.

“Wait a minute. You’re gonna make $70 million and you can’t play basketball 3 or 4 days a week? They fly private. They got the best medical staff ever created. people working in the steel mill every day, I’m pretty sure they’re tired too. But they go,” said Barkley.

While it should be unacceptable for players to take rest days when they’re healthy, a bit of the blame can be put on the way the world is starting to perceive success in the NBA. Fans across the world are beginning to idolize players who have won championships, putting that one achievement leaps and bounds ahead of any other achievement in the league.

This may be causing players to save their bodies up for a grueling postseason as they know that the respect they demand will come from making it through the Playoffs and winning the NBA Finals.

Charles Barkley isn’t one to shy away from speaking his mind and he did just that when talking about how owners will soon have to step in to make their players play. “I think it’s going to be very interesting in the next CBA because billionaires always win against millionaires,” said Chuck.

“It’s embarrassing for the league. I can’t wait for the owners to put their foot in their a**es in the next CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement).” Clearly, Barkley wants to see superstars play and live up to the hundreds of millions they earn.

The Los Angeles Lakers seem to have turned their game around since the trade deadline. They have won 4 of their last 5 games in a manner that was clearly missing until just a few weeks ago. With Russell Westbrook and Pat Beverley’s exit and the addition of new pieces, Darvin Ham’s roster looks complete.

Darvin Ham, while talking about his team’s revival, recently claimed that the Lakers’ current goal is to reach the 6th seed in the West. While at face value, Ham clearly wants to avoid the play-in tournament. However, Brian Windhorst believes that there is another layer of reasoning added to their goal.

In a recent episode of ESPN’s Get Up, the highly acclaimed sportswriter and NBA insider claimed that Ham and the Lakers want to play Sacramento Kings in the playoffs. He believes this is why they have been discussing the 6th seed recently.

Darvin Ham wants Lakers to face the Kings in the first round of playoffs

As per Brian Windhorst, the Lakers are keen on facing the Sacramento Kings in the playoffs. The Kings are currently 3rd in the West with a 35-25 record. If they can maintain this position, they will eventually play any team who ends the season as the 6th seed. Windhorst claimed this is exactly what the Lakers want.

Windhorst: “Their schedule gives them a window to make something possible. And the reason Darvin Ham and the Lakers are talking about the 6th [seed] is that they are targeting the Sacramento Kings. The Sacramento Kings are in 3rd, they are very likely to finish 3rd. That’s the team they want in the first round, an inexperienced team.”

Windhorst is sound in his reasoning. The Lakers will indeed wish to meet an inexperienced team in the first round. The Kings have been really great this season. However, at the end of the day, playing a 7-game playoffs series is not the same as winning games in the regular season. The Lakers would certainly want to meet a team they can exploit in the first round instead of facing one of the top two seeds – Memphis and Denver.

LeBron James’ injury may affect team’s playoffs chances

The gold and purples look great right now. However, the team is certainly concerned about their superstar LeBron James. James went down today in the third quarter and claimed he heard his ankle pop. After receiving the necessary medical attention, James continued to play until they won the game over the Mavericks.

Unfortunately, he was seen limping after the game. LeBron’s absence will be a death sentence to the Lakers who have finally found their footing. If either AD or James miss games, their chances of winning go down. Each game is crucial for them and LeBron is, without a doubt, a key to winning these games. Hopefully, for the Lakers’ sake, he will not miss any games.

In a recent appearance on the OG basketball talk show, the Dan Patrick Show, The Big Aristotle told Dan how he heard his friends speak of the Celtics legend’s abilities were more his luck than skills and actually believed it to be true.

At 6ft 9” Bird played as a small forward in his 13-year career impacting the game in all its aspects. He averaged 24.3 points, 10 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game in that period.

To put that in perspective, O’Neal, who is arguably the game’s most dominant player has career averages of 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. You can understand why Bird is top-10 all-time despite winning just 3 championships.

Lewis Hamilton hailed as the game-changer of the year

Apart from the Hamilton commission, Hamilton has also raised voices for multiple social issues. He talked about LGBTQ+ in countries where the existence of queer people is considered illegal. Hamilton will not be silenced

Ahead of the 2023 season, the FIA has released a decree banning all drivers from giving political messages while using F1’s platform without prior permission. But for most drivers, this ruling doesn’t seem unjustified and is seen as an attempt to take away the right to speech.

But during Mercedes’ car reveal, Hamilton was asked about the recent order passed by the governing body. The seven-time world champion unhesitantly replied that he wouldn’t be silenced and would continue to speak like before.

However, this time, Hamilton isn’t alone in this dissent. Even max Verstappen, who prefers to remain apolitical, have spoken against FIA’s decision and called it unnecessary. So, if the entire grid is unanimously together, it would be hard for the governing body to impose the new rule.

Mac McClung was the star among the stars during the All-Star Weekend. Dominating the event, finishing with a near-perfect score of 199.8, the G-League guard won the 2023 Dunk Contest.

Not only did McClung leave fans happy by expressing his desire to participate again, but Zion Williamson also spoke about suiting up for the competition in the 2024 edition of the All-Star Weekend.

As soon as Mac learned that Williamson might be interested in engaging in the dunk contest next year, the former couldn’t have been happier. Calling Zion an “amazing dunker”, the 24-year-old stated how his participation would “build up the fan base”.

“I would love that. I think he’s an amazing dunker and amazing player, I think it would build up the fan base, and it would just be a great time,” McClung said.

After the final day of the preseason testing in Bahrain, Formula 1 presenter Will Buxton revealed he saw Lando Norris allegedly punching the wall, suggesting he is frustrated after a poor showdown with McLaren.

The three-day camp in Bahrain was poor for the Woking-based team. Many even claim they could go much lower in the table and see themselves at the bottom under this form.

McLaren boss Andrea Stella claims they aren’t currently a top-four team. So, Norris has all the reasons to be frustrated as he is widely considered a probable future world champion. Therefore, seeing himself hitting a slipper slope with everyone could frustrate him with the team’s arrangements.

Will Buxton bashes media for overplaying it

After the video appeared of Buxton claiming that Norris showed an unlikely behavior as he punched a wall, he showed a bit of frustration. Several outlets, including ours, reported it. However, now, he comes to the internet claiming that his comments are being ‘exaggerated’.

He claims that others reported it like Norris was smashing the place up. However, he says nothing was like that, and his punch could even be playful, considering Norris has a jolly nature.

What’s wrong with McLaren?

The Papaya team seems to get the new aero regulations all wrong. The new regulations were probably the biggest change the FIA set up for the F1 teams in a while, and getting it wrong is now costing McLaren heavily.

Norris is unhappy with the new generation cars and finds the previous generation’s machinery better. And seeing McLaren reportedly doing the worst job in adapting isn’t making things better.

Now with all the pundits not hyping up McLaren this season and with Buxton even predicting to be the last, Norris and his fans can’t hope for much. But the season is long, and pre-season testing predictions can anyway go wrong. So everything is probably not lost for them.

Sebastian Vettel Lined Up For Replacing Lance Stroll For Bahrain Grand Prix

Sebastian Vettel, the four-time world champion who recently retired from Formula 1, could be in line to replace Lance Stroll for the season-opening race in Bahrain next weekend.

Right before the start of the pre-season testing, it was revealed Lance Stroll wouldn’t be available for the pre-season testing, as he obtained an injury after a bike accident while preparing for the upcoming season. But after that, it was updated he won’t be there for even the season’s first race.

Therefore, it has left Aston Martin with minimum choices. They do have the option in the current F2 champion Felipe Drugovich. For the entirety of three days in Bahrain pre-season testing, he was there in place of Stroll to mark up miles for Aston Martin.

However, with no prior race experience in F1, he won’t be an ideal replacement for Stroll. Thus, the Silverstone-based team could go for the former ally.

Sebastian Vettel could be in for Bahrain Grand Prix

Only three months after pinning his F1 career, Vettel could be there for his former team to partner with Fernando Alonso. In his recent comments to Autosport, Aston Martin’s boss Mike Krack didn’t deny the possibility. But if Stroll will be missing for the Saudi Arabian GP, too, then Vettel would have enough time to prepare and get in the F1 seat.

“I mean, this is very, very hypothetical,” he said. “First of all, our plan is to have Lance in the car. And then we continue to see because we have Bahrain first before we speak about Jeddah. We have not made the final decision. That’s the point.”

Krack warns fans shouldn’t get too excited about Vettel returning, as the German race driver left the sport with a thorough mind, and his newfound principles conflicted with his profession. So they have to respect that and should be prepared for a no by Vettel.

When asked whether Vettel has shown interest in having a small cameo for his last F1 team, Krack outrightly declined to reveal anything about that.

First time Fernando Alonso and Vettel will partner

For years Vettel and Alonso have vied against each other for the championship. However, they never got a chance to partner with each other, even though both had high-profile teammates at some point in their careers.

Both have also competed for Ferrari, obviously at different points in time. But their destinies never collided, and it could have been a good sight for the fans had they ever been at Ferrari together.
